Initial Inquiry:

At the bottom of this page is a wedding-specific inquiry form, but you can also reach out with the general contact form under the “contact” page! Be sure to use the email you wish to be contacted at and your legal name (you can include a preferred name in the message!!!) as your contact form might morph into a contract down the line if you choose to book! I make sure to respond to all inquiries within a 72-hour period. Please note that holiday observance (US calendar) and weekends (when I most frequently work weddings or lengthy events) may affect these hours.

Questionnaire:

Your questionnaire is part of your initial consultation! You can fill it out prior, but it isn’t required to be filled out in advance of the consult. Your questionnaire consists of questions that will get you thinking about what you specifically want as far as wedding photography. Definitely glance over it since they are important questions to ask yourself before booking any photographer.

Consultation:

Consultations can happen over Facetime/Zoom or in-person. We will get to know each other during this time and go over some questions together. Be sure to write down any questions you want to ask so that you don’t forget! Consultations should take place with both partners present. Wedding planners should be involved as well.

Something unique I like to do during consultations is go over photography inspiration. This inspiration should come from two places! I love when potential couples collaborate and bring 3-5 images from their searches on Google, Pinterest, TikTok, Instagram, etc. and 3-5 images from my portfolio. All 6-10 images will give the three of us a way to move forward pinning down your individual style as a couple—and that’s incredibly important to assuring that Shea Servidio Photography is a good fit for your wedding day. We will discuss what aspects you like and how we can best achieve them as well as set expectations!

Contract and Deposit

After your consultation, if we determine that this is potentially a good fit, I will send a follow-up email recapping our discussion. I can also include a sample contract at this stage. Dates will not be reserved until a deposit is made. I always aim to be transparent. If another couple begins the process of booking your date, I will reach out. I do ask the same courtesy in return. My feelings are never hurt if you choose to go in a different direction (it’s part of my job!), but please let me know so that I can close your inquiry.

Once a deposit is paid, we move onto the next steps!

Extras!

If you book a wedding package that includes items for before your wedding (engagement session, bachelorette party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, etc.) you may have some extra questionnaire work due! Most of these shoots and “standard events” are communicated primarily through email and may come with their own contracts even though the cost is included in your initial package.

If I am making your save the dates, invitations, or other paper materials, we will begin to work immediately by pulling stationary and invitation suite inspiration so that designs can be ordered and shipped with plenty of extra time. Design work is communicated via email because examples are needed. Additional consultation work can be done in person on a case-by-case basis.

Six Months Before Your Wedding

Six months before your wedding, you’ll receive a reminder to update your questionnaire in case you haven’t completed it. We can take this time to discuss decisions you might have made regarding decor, your wardrobe, and any photo locations you want to specially request. In addition, this will be when you start finalizing a shot list. I typically like to have a meeting 3-6 months out from wedding date discussing the shot list before we finalize it in the last month. This way, we can set expectations while looking at your timeline, your wedding aesthetic, and other small details!

The Month of Your Wedding

As a small business, I only take on one large event per month. That means, you’re the only wedding I am photographing! About 4 weeks out from your wedding, you’ll receive an email from me to touch base. By this point, there should be a final timeline in the works. We will finalize this a week out when I will send a final touch-base email. Ideally, in this final month, we should also have a last phone/Zoom meeting to go over everything. Some couples opt to forgo this due to last-minute stress. If you have a wedding planner, they’ll be behind the scenes with myself and all of your vendors and they should be included in any meetings this close to show time!

The Day Of!
