Hebeos?
Did I order a dress from Hebeos just to see all the fuss? Absolutely!
I’m still waiting on professional photos, my husband (technically fiancé still, but you'll see me consistently refer to him as "husband") and I participated in a showcase themed around love and marriage so our dance was a “wedding dance” and I wore a “wedding dress”. Photos were taken, but I’m writing this the day after our event, so we don’t have them yet.
I do, however, have some cellphone photos I’ll attach at the bottom.
Who are Hebeos?
They’re a dress seller. Everything is made-to-order in China. It takes about 30 days start to finish before it ships. When it arrives, don’t panic, it will be delivered inside out. Make sure you take a picture of the package at your doorstep. Hebeos is really difficult to try and make a return to and a photo of the original package is required for any of their disputes.
Why are there some dresses I can only get on their site?
Typically, the dresses on their site are real designer dresses at a fraction of the price. Most often, they’re discontinued (I actually found my senior from dress from 2014 on there). You can typically find the original designed by putting their photos through a reverse Google search and see if you can buy second hand that way!
How’s the size?
Since it’s made-to-order, if you know how to take your own measurements (or have a friend who can confidently take them for you), then you should be ok!
How’s the quality?
It’s ok! I had to reattach some of the beading/sequins before I even wore it (they were very loosely affixed), but they held up. The hemline was cleaner than the dress I ordered from PromLily (I’ll make a post on that one someday). It looked pretty close to the model image.
Would you order a wedding dress there?
Personally? No. I would rather hire someone local and pay a little bit more to be a part of the design process (most dressmakers I found through light research are in the $400-$600 range on average). Obviously, it depends on the project for these dressmakers, but you get to be a part in the materials selection and make sure you get something that holds up the whole day. The dress I got from Hebeos truthfully was starting to lose sequins again within the time frame of 3 hours. If it’s a situation, however, where you have two dresses? I’d consider it. Or something without any bedazzle altogether!
Final opinion?
Not as bad as I thought. It had a built-in bra, which was amazing. I would order again for an event where I need something crazy over the top for people to look at from afar, and I think it’s great for prom. I think for a bride with designer taste, this is not the best option for a budget. I really do think a local dressmaker is your better choice on a budget.
BUT as with all things, it will always depend on the bride and the feelings. A wildly expensive and crazy looking dress isn’t everyone’s taste (it’s certainly not mine, that’s why I had fun wearing it for this event!!!!). Make your choices based on what you like and want, at the end of the day.
